DAVACO Appoints Shelly Vandeven Vice President of Marketing
Dallas, TX (March 23, 2005) — DAVACO, Inc., the national leading provider of retail services, announces the appointment of Shelly Vandeven as vice president of marketing. In this position, Vandeven will be responsible for all strategic marketing activities for business development, industry and corporate marketing initiatives including customer programs, advertising, and public relations. This responsibility encompasses all DAVACO brands and services offered by the retail services company as well as DAVACO Sourcing, a strategic purchasing supplier. Vandeven will report directly to Gerry Geddis, president and chief operating officer.
Vandeven joins DAVACO with 20 years of marketing experience. She worked previously for Haggar Clothing Co. for a combined 12 years, most recently serving as vice president of brand marketing. In this position, Vandeven was responsible for all brand activities for consumer, trade, retail, and corporate marketing initiatives, including product positioning and development, national advertising, public relations, research, packaging, co-op marketing, international and licensee programs. This responsibility encompassed all Haggar brands as well as marketing initiatives for Claiborne and Kenneth Cole, for which Haggar was the U.S. pant licensee.
Vandeven previously served as director of marketing for DAVACO, Inc. in 2001 and 2002. Vandeven graduated with a BA from Stephen F. Austin State University and holds an MBA in business management from the University of Dallas.
